Lü Fengzi Shou Shan Leisure Seal
We have added several old Chines seals like this one:
Old, brown-grey Shou-shan leisure seal by the important painter, calligrapher and seal-carver Lü Fengzi (1886-1959), who also has become famous as teacher. Lü was member of the Hang-Su hua-pai (Hangzhou-Suzhou-School).
As seal engraved are the characters: jiang nan feng (Phoenix from the South, lit: Phoenix from south of the river [Yang-ze]).
Side engraving with date 1942 and dedication.
19 x 18 x 35 mm, good condition. Lü’s seals are rather hard to find.
