Chinese Seal by Ding Fuzhi
Old Chinese leisure seal by the important Chinese seal carver Ding Fuzhi 丁輔之 (1897 – 1949).
As actual seal 6 characters have been carved: 大块假我以文章 da kuai jia wo yi wenzhang (a long vacation which I will use to write an article).
23 x 12 x 20 mm, good condition.
Side engraving with signature. Ding Fuzhi was an important artist and member of the famous Xiling-seal-society.
丁辅之（1879年8月14日～1949年7月12日）近代篆刻家、书画家。原名仁友，后改名仁，字辅之，号鹤庐，又号守寒巢主，后以字行。浙江杭州人，系晚清著名藏书家“八千卷楼主人”丁松生从孙。其家以藏书之丰闻名于海内。嗜甲骨文，尝以甲骨文撰书楹联编成册，又喜篆刻，名印金石，代有收罗，尤以西泠八家印作为多。并擅画花卉瓜果，极其璀璨芳菲。幼承家学。一度同王禔供职于沪杭铁路局。公余之暇，探讨金石书画。
